Hero Communication Platform

Ormiston Primary School uses Hero, a secure school management system (SMS), to share learning, reporting, communication, and school administration. Hero brings together everything you need to stay connected with your child’s school life, accessible on any device.

Using the Hero app, whānau can:

• View and comment on posts relating to your child’s learning
• View information on your child’s progress and goals, including reports
• Read and comment on school notices sent to the Habitat or groups your child is part of
• Respond to surveys and receive communication on upcoming off-site school trips
• View school term dates and a calendar of events
• Notify the school if your child is absent or late
• Book Learner Led Conferences and Ākonga Update Conferences
• Navigate to other school-related web pages

Created by educators, Hero is trusted by schools across New Zealand for its ease of use and robust security, including holding the Safer Technologies 4 Schools (ST4S) badge – a recognised standard for student data privacy in New Zealand schools.
